Quotation of the month

Only when we understand the true relationship between each other is there a possibility of love, and love is denied when we have images. Therefore it is important to understand, not intellectually but actually in your daily life, how you have built images about your wife, your husband, your neighbor, your child, your country, your leaders, your politicians, your gods - you have nothing but images. - Freedom from the Known,92

June's Highlights

  • We are organizing the Happy Tummy program - Juka (stomach worm) awareness presentation and free medicine distribution.
  • The One Thing, a book by Gary Keller, was the topic of discussion and reflection for Kehi Garoun Staff on a Friday afternoon.
  • Kehi Garoun strives to make its office a learning environment for all its staff. To that end, we have started having sessions on improving presentation skills.
  • We met with ECS media house's team to discuss value alignment, content generation and collaboration.
  • 60 students were helped this month.

""Change starts within you; you don't need to go far to help the needy; look around your own community, your neighborhood, your city, your surroundings. KG has enabled and facilitated many individuals and young students from private schools to turn their ideas into complimentary actions...with 7 years on the go, I'm proud to be part of the change that KG instigates and inspires!" "
Sarah Subba is a KG Team member who has involved every member of her family in spreading smiles.  This included her baby daughter, whose birthday celebration includes gifts to other children in need.
"I was excited to hear that KG managed to leverage our gift by 4 times...so instead of helping 8 students, more that 30 students were helped,' she said.  At the end, her contribution went to provide stationary to 37 students in Bal Bikash School, Kuleshwor School, Nepal Rastriya School, Panchakanya School and Rani Devi School.

Quotation of the month

Only the individual can change, not the mass -  "I am talking to the individual because only the individual can change, not the mass; only you can transform yourself, and so the individual matters infinitely. I know it is the fashion to talk about groups, the mass, the race, as though the individual had no importance at all, but in any creative action it is the individual who matters. Any true action, any important decision, the search for freedom, the inquiry after truth, can only come from the individual who ....is trying to understand ...a creative entity, a free person, unconditioned, capable of pursuing truth for itself and not for a result." - JK

On 24th May 2013, Kehi Garoun organized a program for our network teachers to talk about the impact of stationery distribution program. Since 2011, Kehi Garoun has been distributing stationery supplies to economically challenged students. The main agenda of the program is to find out what the teachers have to share regarding the outcome of stationery distribution to 30 government school students. Among 22 participants, 12 teachers participated and gave their valuable feedback.

Teachers concluded that with such program, the students have been regular to school, keep their notebooks clean and tidy. Also, most teachers feel that the stationery really has created huge impact for teachers and mostly for the students who receive it.

The Change we want to see in the world - by Anubhuti Poudyal
......An organization, Kehi Garoun, literally translated, “Let’s do something”, was created to motivate the ideas of change, to conceive people in the society, to work towards its betterment and instill the idea of the valuable work, which currently needs to be done in the society.....
......The society we live in is not perfect. Neither are we as individuals. When these two imperfects meet and begin understanding the way each acts, then the only thing that can follow is strengthening of positives and elimination of negatives. Kehi Garau as an organization understands the dependence individuals have in the society and vice versa. These entities are not alone, and hence need to be addressed as a team. If these two meet, work together, and influence development, then all that follows is prosperity!
