![]() "I started volunteering in KG because I like the idea of responsibility. I realized that it is a message of hope that should be shared with other individuals so that we can collectively bring about changes in the society." Karishma Keshari Tuladhar, Ullen's Cirlce ""Change starts within you; you don't need to go far to help the needy; look around your own community, your neighborhood, your city, your surroundings. KG has enabled and facilitated many individuals and young students from private schools to turn their ideas into complimentary actions...with 7 years on the go, I'm proud to be part of the change that KG instigates and inspires!" Since 2011, Kehi Garoun has been distributing stationery supplies to economically challenged students. The main agenda of the program is to find out what the teachers have to share regarding the outcome of stationery distribution to 30 government school students. Among 22 participants, 12 teachers participated and gave their valuable feedback. Teachers concluded that with such program, the students have been regular to school, keep their notebooks clean and tidy. Also, most teachers feel that the stationery really has created huge impact for teachers and mostly for the students who receive it. Karan Pratap Shah, a student from Symbiosis India, worked as a full time interns at Kehi Garoun for one month. He worked on issues related to the marketing and communications of Kehi Garoun. He focused on getting the team to revise the marketing strategy, make plans to promote Kehi Garoun in local media, print brochures and banners etc. His contribution would surely help Kehi Garoun's marketing in future. We wish him all the best for his future!
This month, we started the first phase stationery distribution program.
More than 550 students have received stationery. All the four area coordinators for 25 schools have received stationery from which many teachers have gone and received the stationery immediately. All the students received 6 notebooks each with other stationery supplies. Once they use up the existing notebooks, we will supply additional ones.
