Anju Khadka, is 7 yrs old studies at Kanya Mandir School.  When we met her last year, she did not have a sweater and shoes to wear.  She lives in Dhalko. Her father sells mo:mo in cart and mother is a home maker who takes care of the 5 children (4 girls and the youngest son).  All the daughters study at Kanya Mandir School.  Among three elder sister, two of them sell water at Ratnapark and one helps her father to make mo:mo. According to her teacher, she never brings her lunch and when I asked her, she said that it is even difficult to eat dinner how can she bring lunch and wear good clothes. 

KG has been involved in providing her stationery.  KG also facilitated a member to provide sweater to her sister.

INSTITUTIONAL:In January, KG made a few small achievements towards making sure we are able to continue reaching 1000+ children like Anju.

1. Raised Rs 91,000 (79%) - our highest yet!
2. KG did Market Study on Allo Fiber (Nettle) with HNFF (Himalayan Natural Fiber Foundation) - a socially responsible venture.
3. Ms. Miru has on sabbatical leave and will continue to be on KG Board.  Her replacement is announced  online. 
4. We did fund raising program by screening “Eek Mein Aur Eek Tum” at QFX cinema on 10th February 2012.  We able to raised Rs. 15,000.

PROGRAM:  

1. We provided only 5 Sajha Khaja sessions. All these sessions were sponsored by Ace Institute of Management (Alumni Group), Amulya and friends, Bibek Shrestha and Puspa Gurung.
2. On 29th Feb we interacted with Ms. Meena Neupane, coordinator of Shree Shanti Vidhya Griha, Lainchaur, Kathmandu. They requested to provide Mid-Day Meal for their school. 
3. On 2nd Feb, we did “Fun Learning” session at Pragati Sikshya Sadan, Kupondole.

LOOKING AHEAD: KG Cooperative (a non-profit) will be started to institutionalize inter member lending to cover our deficit and future causes.  We are also exploring to set up a pre-school where we pilot curriculum development. Contact us if you are interested to learn more....
