Members Contribution

For 2014, we need to raise USD 1,000 per month for KG's admin costs (covers 5+ staff, rent & utilities, office supplies etc.) We hope you will continue to support KG as a member by filling out this membership survey form
This is an annual call to KG members. Filling out this survey will retain your status as a KG Member for 2014. Last year, KG gave 3000+ gifts, which was three times more than the previous year. In particular, we are seeing an increase in the number of first-time donors.

Our focus is on running the Gifts Program where we inspire individuals to donate for gifts.  These individuals, often skeptical, are generally won over by the fact that 100% of their money goes towards beneficiary, none for the admin.  This is possible because members' contribution pay for institutional expenses.

This also keep KG free of foreign aid / development dollar, hence demonstrating an innovative model of social change in a country that had been grown tired and suspicious of traditional development practices.
.

Update end January 2014:
Thanks to those you filled out the membership form for 2014.  We raised commitment of 45%. KG will borrow the remaining from the KG-Trust and KG-USA and hopefully, in the coming months, we have to find ways to reach 100%.  You can help by asking a friend or two to fill out the same membership survey form.

  3. We will ask members to contribute towards KG's admin cost of $1000 per month.  Download the current status here.
  4. We have changed the website to focus on how you can participate in the Gifts program.

Do let us know if you have any comments or questions about these changes.

This is the weekly update from KG Team meeting on 21st April, 2013
  1. Financial Review:  Finances are stable due to revenue from the ‘mini Venture’ (BMI Machine). We are ok till May end.
  2. Management Review:  An alliance was formed between FCube Cinemas and KG.  We hope to generate enough funding to cover salary of one support staff from this relationship.  They have agreed to give us 16 movie passes free of charge every week.
  3. Program:  Gift program is stable at 2 gifts per day.  We have to now focus on the stationery program for which we got over 700 applications.
Notes:
  • Volunteers interaction - There was one interaction with Ace College and a whole day meeting with Ullen’s volunteers. Target for college outreach is now raised to 2 per week
  • KG facilitated a visit of Chinese Academic Delegates to Kathmandu University.
  • First ‘Responsibility Event’ will be a walk by the Ullens volunteers on Sunday.
  • On the same day, Tarini School near Basantapur. After the walk participants will paint Tarini School and Mr. Prem Subba and his friend will distribute food to students, teachers and KG Team.
  • BMI project started by KG Staff Krishna, Ullens Circle and other volunteers has done very well in the past 2 weeks. They are targeting to raise at least Rs. 50,000 for stationery from this project (90% achieved).
