Bimala Parel is a student of class 4 studying in Tarani School. She is an honest and hardworking student. Her mother works as labour and her family has a poor economic background due to which they cannot afford to buy sweater for their daughter.So, her teacher, wishes she could wear sweater in this cold winter.

Amlesh Kumar is a fourth grader studying in Sri Bal Bikash Ni. Ma. Vi. As per his teacher and gift applicant Ms. Deepa Timalsina, Amlesh is a hard working and sincere student. Originally from Musafpur, India Amlesh and his family presently reside in Bhatbateni. Amlesh lives with his parents and a sister. His brother left due to the poor economic condition of his family. His parents work as laborers. Since their work is seasonal, the family doesn't have enough money to fulfill his needs. Amlesh goes to school despite of the problems at home. Amlesh goes to school with torn pants and sweaters. Seeing his wish to study and his  progressive academics his teacher asks to support by helping buy him a pair of sweater and a pair of pants.
(Sweater- Rs. 500 and Pants- Rs. 625)

Sushma Magar

Sushma Magar is a diligent student in Adarsha School, (Chabhil).  She is an only child. Her father left her and her mother to fend for themselves when Sushma was very young. Her mother works as a maid in multiple homes; she struggles to buy educational supplies for her daugher. Sushma herself often goes to help her mother complete her maid's chores.  She wishes to receive a gift of educational materials, so that she can spend more time doing her homework, and playing with her mother...instead of doing chores in people's houses.

Aakash Thapa, as per her teacher & gift-applicant Miss Kesari Gurung, is a UKG student at Nepal Nimukha Bal-Balika Sikshya Utthan Sanstha (Basundhara). The teacher is touched by this hard-working and well-behaved 10-year-old, who sadly, was diagnosed with blood cancer three years ago.  This means he has to be in hospital every month and misses classes for three or four days.  Worse still, his father died earlier this year while in the Saudi Arabia as a migrant laborer.  Now,  his mother has the total responsibility to care of all household expenses including food, rent and school fees of both Aakash and his young sister.  Aakash wishes he and his sister could have sufficient clothes for winter.

Nabin Rai

Nabin Rai is a 13 years old student at Nepal Nimukha Bal-Balika Sikshya Utthan Sanstha (Basundhara) in class 2.  He and his older brother live with their mother and stepfather.  Nabin felt neglected as a child and became a delinquent consuming alcohol, cigarette  marijuana etc.  However, after joining the school, he has transformed; he comes to school regularly, puts good effort in studies and has given up all his bad habits.  He does not  have sufficient clothes for winter.

Manish Bhujel

Manish Bhujel's wish for school dress - A student in glass 3 of Adarsha School, the 9 year old Manish comes to school in torn shirt even in winter.  When the teacher Rukmini Humagain asked him, he informs that his mother is unable to buy his clothes.  The teacher wishes that we could buy his a set of warm cloths (Rs. 2,500).

Chhiring Tamang

Chhiring Tamang Lama is a student of grade 5 in Shanti Shikshya  Mandir School.  He is a star student, yet lacks sufficient notebooks and stationery for his studies.  His wish, as identified by his class teacher Ms. Neema Rajbhandari, is to have one notebook per subject.  (Rs. 750). 
Status: Gift Delivered in August 2012
  • KG member Mr. Sudarshan Pandey (from VA, USA) became his gift-angel.
  • 17 notebooks, packet of pencil and color pencils was handed over to Tsering Tamang Lama in Septermber 2012

Urmila Tamang

Urmila is a third grader studying in Pragati Sikshya Sadan. Urmila’s family moved from Dakshinkali to Kathmandu 3 years ago to earn money. Her mother goes to work after finishing the household chores. Her  father is a porter. Urmila’s 2 sisters and one brother are student. With per person monthly income of below Rs 600, her family lives in destitute, as per poverty classification developed by Kehi Garoun. 

Status: KG provided mid-day meals for her in 2007 and 2008.
