Aakash Thapa, as per her teacher & gift-applicant Miss Kesari Gurung, is a UKG student at Nepal Nimukha Bal-Balika Sikshya Utthan Sanstha (Basundhara). The teacher is touched by this hard-working and well-behaved 10-year-old, who sadly, was diagnosed with blood cancer three years ago.  This means he has to be in hospital every month and misses classes for three or four days.  Worse still, his father died earlier this year while in the Saudi Arabia as a migrant laborer.  Now,  his mother has the total responsibility to care of all household expenses including food, rent and school fees of both Aakash and his young sister.  Aakash wishes he and his sister could have sufficient clothes for winter.
(Rs 1,750 for sweater, shoes and socks, per child)
