Sabitri Shrestha is studying in grade 2 in Kanya Mandir School (Raktakali). Living with her step mother, Sabitri was found coming to school in torn uniforms by her teacher Sarala Pant. Her wish to wear nice uniform and warm sweater was fulfilled by Gift Angel Vijaya Singh. 

Sarala Pant is Sabitri's teacher. touched by her story she had applied for the Gift in KG.  She says Sabitri is one among many such students in Kanya Mandir who comes to school without warm clothing winter. 

Dr. Sushil Kumar Paudel is a Vet Surgeon. Originally from Surkhet Nepal, he is working in Malaysia right now.  He believes in the philosophy- "If you want to have peaceful sleep at night and fresh morning, go out and do something for others who are less fortunate than you.". He is a gift angel of Manisha Gautam.

Rabindra Tamang is originally from Nuwakot. He is 9 years old and studies in grade 2 at Pragati Siksha Sadan, Lalitpur. He lives with his father in Kupandole in a rented room. His mother lives in Nuwakot. 

Rabindra came with his father so that he can study in a better school. His father works days and nights as a daily wage laborer to make him a better citizen. To his father's dream, he is doing full justice. He is a bright student and very much keen in his studies. After school, the first thing he does is sit for his studies and finish all the homework. His favorite subject is English. After finishing his homework, he plays football with his friends. He aspires to be a pilot and wants to fly high.

Rabindra currently receives mid-day meals through KG's Sajha Khaja program.

Sarala Pant is one of those inspiring member of KG, who has supported KG continuously with enthusiasm and in KG spirit. Her participation and feedback in KG's activities have been wonderful asset for KG.  When looked back in the year 2012, it's teachers like her, who makes KG proud for what it is doing now.

When the world was waiting to watch bad omen to happen, KG was all ready to collect all those memorable testimonials of 2012. This section will give flash back of some of our 2012's notworthy events. The events are kept in the reversed order starting from the last.

1. Clothes Drive for Warm Winter after FlashMob: KG ended the year with a joint initiation with students of Hollins University to help government school students with warm clothes for winter. In this endeavor, 50 students from various inistitution helped us organize Flashmob at Basantapur which captured the attention of the immediate community people in our program. Not just that the event got covered in a national daily. A week after we organized clothes drive at Kanya Mandir School, through which we distributed clothes to more than 180 students and more than 20 parents. Please read more about it in here. 
2. Health Camp in Kanya Mandir School:  With a team of doctors from Taiwan, KG organized a Health Camp in Kanya Mandir in August. Through this program we were able to help 288 students including teachers, and their parents. Please read more here. 
3. Teej Festival Celebration in UWTC:  Our enthusiastic volunteers from K&K International College initiated Teej Celebration program keeping KG's stall midst a commercial hubbub in UWTC with an aim to inform ordinary people about KG and raise funds. They reached 128 people and raised Rs.7405. Please read more here. 
4. Silence Speaks was another memorable experience of KG which helped KG and some of the concerned citizens to voice out their frustrations on issues like Nepal Bandhs, Child Abuse, Corruption etc. 
5. Beside these events KG also organized Outreach Program in  ACE College, K&K International College, Rotary Club of Baneshwor and Thames College. Through this program we were able to reach more than 100 youths. 
6. Also, we periodically met the ESN teachers to update them about the programs of KG and to get feedback in our ESN program (KG Gifts and Gifts Stationery). 

Deepak Sahi is a fourth grader studying in Sri Arunodhaya NI. Ma. Vi. (Dhioka Tol). According to his gift applicant and teacher Ms. Urmiladevi Shrestha Deepak lives with his family in Naradevi. There are 7 members in his family and his father does small business. His teacher says that Deepak is a well disciplined, friendly and hardworking student. He Is always eager to learn he comes to school with all his homework and class work done. But his teacher has only one problem Deepak doesn’t come to school with a school uniform. The main reason for this is that though Deepak’s father works hard the money he earns is not quite enough for the family of seven people which results in Deepak’s parent’s inability to buy him the proper set of school uniforms. Deepak like any other student wishes to come to school in proper set of school uniform.

Sofiya Khatun is a first grader studying in Sri Arunodhaya Ni. Ma. Vi (Dhoka Tol). As per her gift applicant and teacher Ms. Bimala Acharya, Sofiya is a diligent and a hardworking student living with her father and four other family members. Her father owns a small business but it is not enough to support the family’s basic needs. Sofiya loves to come to school but due to this cold winter, she her inability to buy school uniform discourages her from coming to school. Sofia wishes to come to school in warm clothes.

Sushila Magar who lives in Naradevi studies in grade One in Sri Arunodhaya Ni. Ma. VI. (Dhoka Tol). As per her gift applicant and teacher Ms. Bimala Acharya she lives with her father and other six family members. Her father works as a construction worker.  Sushila is always regular at school and is one of the most hard working and diligent student. Her father being the only bread winner doesn’t earn enough to provide the family of six with all the basic needs, So, sushila though being a regular student doesn’t come to school with because she doesn't own a sweater as her parents can’t afford to. Seeing her determination to study her teacher requests to support her determination by helping her buy a sweater so that she can keep herself warm in this cold winter season.

1. Shristi Pradhan writes: Samjhana Ghising, ??, (age) is a dedicated student at Shanti Nikunja Medium School in ?? (location). She is one of four sisters and her parents struggle to feed and clothe all of them. While her mother does chores in another’s home to earn a living, her father unfortunately is unemployed. Samjhana could really do with proper clothes to wear. To buy the clothes for both summer and winter, she needs Rs 2,000. She will be very grateful to receive the Gift.


2. Kesari Gurung writes: I teach Aakash Thapa at ?? (school) in ?? (location). This hard-working, honest, well-behaved 10-year-old was diagnosed with blood cancer three years ago. This means he has to be in hospital every month and misses classes for three or four days. And sadly his father died earlier this year, so now his mother has to take care of all household expenses including food, rent and school fees of both Aakash and his young sister.
Aakash is in need of sweater, shoes and socks worth Rs 1,400. I feel this support will motivate him to work even harder in school.

3. Kesari Gurung writes: Nabin Rai is 13 years old and my student in class two at ?? (school) in ?? (location). He and his older brother live with their mother, who works as a labourer, and stepfather, a contractor. The family finds it difficult to make ends meet and Nabin, in particular, is subject to economic neglect as he used to be a bad boy, drinking alcohol and smoking weed. However, since he joined EDUC-NEPAL he has transformed. He has started to come to school regularly and perform better in his studies. He has left all the bad habits. Nabin is in need of sweater, socks and shoes worth Rs 1,400. This support would inspire him to be dedicated to his studies.


4. Rukmini Humagain writes: Student of Adarsha L.S. School, ?? (location) Sushma Magar, ?? (age), is an only child. She and her mother started to live separately since her father married another woman. Her mother works as a maid in others’ homes and as a single mother she finds it difficult to buy educational material for her daughter. Moreover, Sushma often has to help her mother in order to earn extra money and this affects her studies. If materials such as sweater, bag, uniform and shoes, worth Rs 3,000 are provided to Sushma, it would support her education.
